Takatori ware is a type of Japanese pottery that originated in Fukuoka Prefecture. The pottery's delicate and refined designs have made it highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
This large bowl, made by the main family of Hachizan, is decorated in Takatori-ware's elusive glaze which creates thick rivulets and beads of dark iron glaze. On top, one splash of yellow and one splash of white ash glaze fill the surface of this bowl with vibrant intrigue. The flavour of the clay is a deep, dark iron based local source. Very good condition in original box.
